City of Marion, Ohio

Communications Officer 

The City of Marion, Ohio will be taking applications for Communications Officer.  The Communications Center answers and dispatches calls for the Marion City Police Department, The Marion City Fire Department, Marion City EMS and 911 calls. The Communications Center operates 3 eight hours shifts daily. Prospective employees should be prepared to work shift work, weekends and holidays. Assignments are bid on yearly by seniority.  Starting pay as of 1-1-10 is $15.00 per hour and tops out at $20.35 plus seniority bonuses, shift differential and benefits. Employees are represented by the Fraternal Order of Police-Ohio Labor Council.

Job requirements:

High School diploma or GED

No felony record

Be able to pass an in depth background investigation.  

Must have been LEADS certified within the past 18 months.

Applications may be picked up at the Human Resource Office for the City of Marion. The Office is located on the 3rd floor of City Hall, 233 W. Center St. Marion, Ohio 43302.
