• Happy New Year 2015 - Remembering 2014
    Posted On: Jan 01, 2015
HERE IS TO A HEALTHY, PROSPEROUS, HAPPY AND SAFE 2015!
2014 is over. Looking back, it has been a year we will all remember:
We will remember the tragic murder of Akron FOP 7 member Justin Winebrenner.
We will remember all of our brothers and sisters who were forced from this great profession due to injuries sustained protecting our communities.
We will remember passing our legislative priority to get BWC coverage for 1st responders who experience PTSD through the Senate three times but failing to get it through the House and signed into law.
We will remember our first labor seminar for our female members being a great success
We will remember the unrest and frustration felt at the justified actions of law enforcement officers across the country and here in Ohio
We will remember rallying in support of our profession
We will remember a stabilization in the economic condition of our employers, ending the constant fear of layoffs and downsizing. We will also remember that we have not yet rebounded with the appropriate staffing levels need to police our communities across Ohio
We will remember a great State Conference in Franklin County, commemorating our 80th Anniversary as a State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police.
We will remember John Wainscott, Mike Bammann, Jim Goodall, Bill Halusek and Paul Hlynsky for their service to the State Lodge and we will remember welcoming Shaun Laird, Eric Lehnhart, Greg Toyeas, Troy Mineard, and Ron Susana to the Board of the Ohio FOP.
It is our prayer that 2015 is a safe, healthy, prosperous and happy New Year for every single member of the greatest organization in the nation, the Fraternal Order of Police of Ohio!
On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the FOP of Ohio, Happy New Year!
    Jay
