The Fraternal Order of Police of Ohio formed a new foundation to support the many services it provides to law enforcement throughout the state. The tax exempt foundation (501C3) is now accepting contributions and has been approved by the IRS to receive tax exempt gifts from corporations, foundations and individuals.
One important program funded by the new FOP Foundation is the Critical Incident Response Service (CIRS) which offers support to officers and their families who encounter life-threatening circumstances in the line of duty. CIRS will continue to serve individuals who are affected by incidents of death or serious injury, multi-casualty events, police shootings, or suicide.
This Foundation will also support the Ohio Special Olympics, Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run, Special Olympics Tent Town and Easter Seals.
Contributions can be sent to: FOP of Ohio Foundation, 222 East Town Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
